LIPS: WORDS CAN HEAL; WORDS CAN KILL

"Is that Versace you are wearing?"

Cueing in line at the gates to heaven,
Princess Di found herself standing in line behind Cunanan.
"Is that Versace you are wearing,"
she asked him.

I will never forget this attempt at a joke Jim (Bubba D. Licious) told a group of us while standing in the middle of Bourbon Street during Southern Decadence held anually New Orleans during Labor Day Weekend.

Princess Di had just died.
You could have heard a needle drop.

I had just met Jim for the first time a couple of hours earlier in front of a Rawhide Bar.  Never heard of Bubba D. Licious at the time; and I had lived in Atlanta several years already.

Quite popular with the Atlanta gay crowd he turns out to be.

Although everyone I know refers to him as Bubba D. Licious, I've always referred to him as Jim.  That was how I first met him.  He wasn't in drag at the time or any time that Decadence Weekend I'm aware of.
